You will only ever be contacted by a third party if you give your consent first.

The Data Protection Act 1998 says that we are the Data Controller of your personal information. In order to run our business, we need to contract with other companies for the provision of a variety of products and services including from:

Where is your personal information stored?

All of your personal information is stored in data centres located in the EU. We do not anticipate a requirement to transfer your personal information to countries outside of the EU. If this changes, we will notify you by email and we will ensure that the information is held to standards at least as good as those in the EU and for the purposes set out in this policy.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • verify your identity;
  • verify the other information contained in your loan application;
  • search the information held in relation to you by the credit reference agencies and the fraud prevention agencies;
  • assess the affordability of any loan which you have applied for;
  • help us to decide whether to grant you a loan;
  • operate and manage your account;
  • contact you by email, SMS, letter, telephone or in any other way about the operation of any loan which you have received from us; the collection of any loan which you have received from us; and in any other way about our products and services;
  • trace your whereabouts if you have changed address without letting us know;
  • analyse the performance of our business;
  • perform financial, compliance and other audits; and/or
  • comply with our legal and/or regulatory obligations.
Credit Reference Agencies

When credit reference agencies receive a search from us, they will place a search footprint on your credit file that can be seen by other lenders. Your ability to obtain credit can be reduced by the number of applications which you make in any given time period, particularly if you make a large number of applications in a short period of time.

Credit reference agencies link your records with individuals who are considered to be your financial associates. Financial associates include people who you share an account with and people who you live with. These links are kept in place until you, or the relevant financial associate, tell the credit reference agency that the link no longer exists and provides evidence which the credit reference agency accepts that this is the case. This is sometimes referred to as a disassociation. If you want to request a disassociation, you must contact the credit reference agencies directly. Their contact details are as follows:

Callcredit Limited (Company number 03961870)

Registered office: One Park Lane, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS3 1EP

Equifax Ltd (Company number 02425920)

Registered office: Capital House, 25 Chapel Street, London, NW1 5DS

Experian Limited (Company number 00653331)

Registered office: Landmark House, Experian Way, NG2 Business Park, Nottingham, NG80 1ZZ

The credit reference agencies and the various lenders, including us, work based upon contributing and sharing credit information. We tell the credit reference agencies about your loan with us and whether and how you repay it. Any failure to repay the loan on time will be noted on your credit file and is likely to have a negative effect on your ability to obtain credit in the future. The credit reference agencies keep your information for six years after the loan is either repaid or after a default is recorded.

Fraud Prevention Agencies

We may use fraud prevention agencies to identify fraud, money-laundering and other criminal activities. If we establish that any of the information which you have given to us is false or inaccurate and we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud we will note this fact in our records and we will pass the information on to fraud prevention agencies and other organisations focused on crime and fraud prevention, including law enforcement agencies.

Other websites

Our website may contain links to other sites which are outside our control and not covered by this policy. The operators of these sites may collect information from you that will be used by them in accordance with each of their policies, which may differ from ours.

My Account

We provide our customers with a secure area called My Account. You can log in at any time to see your account details and to send us a secure message. For quality, testing and customer service reasons, we are able to log into My Account as if we were you so that we can see exactly what you see. When we do this, full audit records are maintained of which Auden person logged in and exactly what they did whilst they were logged in.
